Growing Up Fast

These girls are growing up fast.  I have loved seeing them enjoying one another (most of the time).  Liv has come a long way this year.  I am seeing a softening of the "strong will" she has.  It has blessed me so much to have her come on her own to apologize for something she did.  This is a big deal!  She is such a "go getter" and I love that about her.  If she doesn't do something right the first time, she always says, "Let me try again!"  It is a quality I admire in her since she is so different from myself.  She is a joy to teach and I am pleasantly surprised by this.  In soccer this year she went after that ball and really improved!  I loved seeing her work hard and hustle.  Whenever someone fell on the field she would always bend down and help them up.  If someone else scored, she would always run over and give them a high-five.  Those moments made me the most proud.

Soph has such a sweet, quietness about her.  I love that she still asks me to snuggle and likes to come in bed with me in the mornings.  She is my kiddo that does not thrive under pressure...different than her sister.  It is a challenge with homeschooling, but I am finding the balance between encouraging and pressuring.  She is a lot like me in this way and, sadly, it makes me lose patience with her more quickly.  You would think I would know how to respond better...something to pray about.  She thrived in soccer this year and I loved seeing her be one of the best on the team, yet still maintain a humble and helpful spirit towards others.  My favorite thing this soccer season was seeing her slow down during warm-ups to run alongside and encourage a girl on her team who is always the slowest.   That will get her much further than being a good soccer player.

Kindergarten and 2nd Grade First Day of School Pics

First day pics are the best.  I love how you can see personalities in them.  These sweet girls are growing up so fast!
