Princess Party

We had a combined princess party for the girls and it was so much fun.  The little girls wore crowns, princess dresses and got their make-up done.  I loved seeing my girls have fun and getting to share the day with our friends.  We are so blessed!

Birthday Party #1

We celebrated Soph and Liv's birthday's on the 14th with Mike's family.  The next morning was Soph's actual birthday so I made her strawberry pancakes with strawberry whipped cream.  She got to open her big present from us.  It was the complete set of the Cinderella main characters.  I was about to get the whole set for $25 and she was so excited to play with them.  We love our big girls!

She looks so old in this picture:(

Tucson

Mike worked for 2 weeks in Pasadena so the girls and I headed to Tucson for one of those weeks to spend some time with my parents.  The girls had a blast.  We went to Trail Dust Town, ate good food, saw a few friends, went to Sabino Canyon, Sophia learned to pump on the swing and we did lots of swimming.  It was also my first car trip by myself with the girls and they did awesome.  Thank goodness for snacks and books!  We missed Daddy so much, but are thankful that we had a place to go while he was away so long.

FOUR

Soph turned 4 on the 15th.  What a sweet girl she is becoming.  She always wants to know what words mean and doesn't forget anything she hears.  Her prayer for the last year has been, "Jesus, please help me to obey my Mom and Dad and to listen and obey."  The Lord has really answered this prayer.  Just recently she has started praying that she would love others and treat them how she would like to be treated.

Her insights into things are amazing and I love hearing the connections she makes.  She loves being a helper with Liv and I'm so glad that Livvy has such a good example in her big sister.

I have been a lot more intentional lately about helping both kids memorize scripture this year and Sophia has learned all of Psalm 23 and is now halfway through Psalm 139.  I pray that all that she learns now sinks deeply into her heart and that she remembers it all of her days.

We love our big girl.

Birds, Worms and Caterpillars

We were out for a walk today and Sophia saw a bird eating something.  We looked down and saw it had been eating a worm.  She said, "That's just like the song that Mr. Green sings."  "Oh, you mean the bible song?" I said.  Sophia replied, "Yes.  The one that talks about looking at the birds of the air and how they don't sow or reap or store in barns and yet their Heavenly Father feeds them."

I love how she knows that God takes care of even the little things.

Later on today she brought in a caterpillar and said, "Mom, we found a caterpillar."  I said, "A real one?"  She said, "Yes, it's one that God made."

So sweet.
